Terms and conditions of sale

1. Seller

2. Scope

These terms govern the distance sale of books and other catalogue items through this website. Placing an order constitutes a purchase proposal and implies full acceptance of these terms.

3. Availability

Titles marked “in stock” are physically on our shelves and ship within 24/48 working hours. Titles marked “to order” are requested from the distributor: delivery is normally estimated at 2-3 weeks and may vary for reasons outside our control.

Because the bookshop also sells over the counter, the last copy may occasionally be sold in store before your order is picked. If that happens we contact you and you may choose between waiting for a reorder or a refund.

4. Prices

Prices are in euro and include VAT where applicable. Discounts comply with Italian book pricing law. The price that applies is the one shown when the order is confirmed; later changes do not affect confirmed orders.

5. Payment

Payments are processed by Stripe with credit or debit cards and the other methods offered by the platform. Card details never reach our systems. Orders are confirmed only after payment confirmation from the payment provider.

6. Delivery

Free collection is available at the bookshop, Via delle Oche 4R, Florence, Monday to Saturday 10:00-19:00. Shipping costs depend on weight and destination and are shown before payment. Any free-shipping threshold is displayed in the basket.

7. Right of withdrawal

Consumers may withdraw within 14 days without giving a reason, as described on the withdrawal page.

8. Warranty and defects

The 24-month legal guarantee of conformity under the Italian Consumer Code applies. Second-hand books are sold in the condition described on their page: the stated wear is not a defect.

9. Governing law and disputes

Italian law applies. Consumers may bring proceedings in the court of their place of residence. The European ODR platform is available for online dispute resolution.
